A couple weeks ago I finished building up a custom mountain bike based on a Marin Pine Mountain steel frame. Bike turned out sweeet, I haven t riden a bicycle for 16 years since I was a kid, but I was really digging this bike. Started to ride it down to the 46th st subway station in Astoria (46th St. & Broadway), locked it up, and took the train in to work. Wouldn t you know it, on the third day I rode it down, it got yoinked! I called the cops, and stood there for a hour and 45 minutes in the 29 degree cold waiting for them to show up, watching no fewer then 8 copcars drive up and down Broadway, willfully ignoring my attempts wave one of them down. I didn t think it would be so difficult to get one to stop, I mean I was right in front of a fucking doughnut shop! I guess next time I need a cop, I ll have to put on some body armor and start driving into minivans, but due to frustration, I digress. Point of this whole thing is, I really liked the bike, it wasn t cheap, and I d really, really, really like to catch the SOB who jacked my shit. If you saw anything, or know anything, or happen to hear anything about a bike fitting this description, and I actually locate it based off of your info, I ll lay a crisp $100 bill right in your hand. The bike is distinctive in the following ways: White, hardtail Marin frame. Black solid downhill front fork. Hydraulic Hayes disc brakes. HUGE Kore stem, just like the one in the picture. Red handlebar. C mon NYC, join hands and fight forces of evil that plague our city!
