This is a Nishiki bike from the era when Japanese makers such as Bridgestone, Miyata, Lotus, Nishiki, and Fuji produced excellent bikes at affordable prices. This example is all- 80s: Crazy bar tape, weird pedals, and a lavender with purple accents paint job. But make no mistake, this is a serious bike! The previous owner road it cross-country. It is now tuned, upgraded, has NEW slick Seca road tires, and is ready to ride.
The prestige is one of Nishiki s best frames. It says Handcrafted by Kagamura on the chain stay. The bike has Suntour drop-outs and is equipped with a Zefal X-2 pump and extra spoke on the seat stay.
The wheels are Italian-made Ambrosio, the derailleurs and shifters are Suntour, the headset is Shimano 600, the brakes anodized Dia-Compe, crank is Sugino, pedals Mavic, bars Sakae, stem is SR custom, the seat is an ugly but comfy gel.
There is also a hook-up for a computer, an extra set of aluminium skewers. I ll also throw in a 3-foot krypto chain for another $20.
This bike would make a great winter commuter or a starter touring bike (much better value than getting something new) it could also be converted into a fixed (though that would be a bit of a pity considering the bike s history), and it is ugly enough to become a kik-azz commuter.
