This limited edition 100th. Anniversary Schwinn Black Phantom was purchased brand new by this seller and placed out of the box on display in a local bicycle store to attract customers. It is in like new condition. (see pictures) In the year 1995 the original Schwinn company on it?s 100th. anniversary re tooled it?s factory in Chicago where the first original Black Phantoms were produced 1948 to 1959, and built this limited edition 100th. anniversary model of the original Schwinn Black Phantom. This classic bicycle then sold for $3,000.00 and was purchased by many celebrities. Most were held by dealers and soon became unavailable in their limited supply. A few short years later, the original Schwinn company was taken over by Pacific bicycles, a large company selling inexpensive bikes in department stores, then sold again to another mass producer. The current Schwinn name is no longer the original company. For this reason, there will never be another Schwinn ever produced by the actual Schwinn company so no other Phantoms nor any genuine Schwinn bikes are ever possible.
